Scotland will open their Commonwealth 9s Championship campaign against Fiji in Moreton Bay, Queensland, on Friday, February 23.

The under 23s side, which features 15 players from community clubs, take on PNG at 11.05 local time on day one, before facing hosts Australia at 15.10.

Their final game of the day is against Wales at 18.15, Day two will see the knockouts and the bronze, silver and gold medals up for grabs.

Rugby League Commonwealth Championship

Edinburgh Eagles and Newcastle University’s Matt Hogg has been named as Scotland Captain. Head Coach Nathan Graham will name his Vice Captain following the squads arrival into Brisbane and team activities to see who comes to the front.

Dapto Canaries, Edinburgh Eagles and Strathmore Silverbacks all boast three members of the squad, while Berkley RLFC, Brighouse Rangers, Brunel University, Keighley Cougars and Newcastle Thunder are represented by one players each.

The nine-a-side u23s competition will take place across 23 and 24 February, with fixtures hosted at Dolphin Oval, home of the Redcliffe Dolphins.

Scotland have been drawn in Pool A against Wales, Fiji and 2014 runners up Australia.

Pool B sees England, Tonga, Samoa and 2014 Champions Papua New Guinea face off.
