Introducing our staff for the Commonwealth Championships – Ollie Cruickshank – Operations Manager

Ollie lives just outside Edinburgh with his wife Sarah and 8 month old son, Callum. He has worked at The University of Edinburgh for 6 and half years as a Sports Coordinator. The main parts of the role are to manage the University teams competing in the BUCS leagues and to oversee the running of the largest Intra-Mural sports programme in Scotland.

Since 2009 Ollie has volunteered with Scotland Rugby League in several different roles and is currently the Operations Manager overseeing the National Teams and day to day operational activities.

Cruickshank said:

“The experiences of being involved in the Rugby League World Cup in 2013 and the Four Nations in 2016 with Scotland were unforgettable and I am really looking forward to heading to Brisbane with the U23’s and being part of an exciting tournament.”

Ollie has also been involved in the club scene in Scotland having been both the Edinburgh Eagles Secretary and Team Manager. In 2009 Ollie was asked to become the Assistant Team Manager for the Scotland ‘A’ Team and a year later became the Team Manager and was part of the Home Nations winning squad.

In 2010 Ollie was offered a role of Assistant Manager for the Scotland Team and became the Scotland Manager in 2011, a role he still holds. He was delighted to be part of the 2013 World Cup group who reached the Quarter Finals and the 2014 European Championship winning team where Scotland secured a place in the Four Nations 2016.
