Team Manager – Scotland Wheelchair Rugby League
Location: Flexible (training mainly in Edinburgh, with occasional international travel)
Role Type: Voluntary (reasonable expenses covered)
Time Commitment: Variable – includes evenings, weekends, training camps, and competitions
About the Role
Scotland Wheelchair Rugby League is seeking a motivated and organised Team Manager to support the national squad. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the growth and success of wheelchair rugby league in Scotland.
The Team Manager will lead on the coordination of training camps and competitions, act as the main communication link across players and staff and ensure that the squad has the practical support needed to perform at their best on and off the pitch.
Key Responsibilities
- Camp organisation – Plan and coordinate training camps, including venues, schedules, accommodation, catering, and accessibility requirements.
- Competition organisation – Manage logistics for domestic and international fixtures, liaising with competition organisers and host teams.
- Team Communication – Act as the central contact for players, coaches, and staff, ensuring clear and timely distribution of information.
- Player Management – Support player welfare and squad administration, ensuring a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Equipment & Supplies – Oversee team kit, wheelchairs, and specialist equipment, including inventories, preparation, and maintenance.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A collaborative, supportive approach to working with players and staff.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Basic IT skills (email, scheduling tools, spreadsheets)
Desirable
- Experience in sports team management or administration.
- Understanding of disability sport and/or Rugby League.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and player welfare policies.
