About the Role

Scotland Rugby League (SRL) is seeking a passionate, proud, and authentic Social Media Manager to lead our digital presence. This is a vital voluntary role that requires a trusted, knowledgeable, and respectful voice. The primary purpose of this position is to celebrate and promote our sport, connect with our community, and grow the game throughout Scotland.

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for translating raw content from our team managers into compelling, brand-consistent posts across all key platforms. This role is essential for driving fan engagement and achieving brand consistency and commercial value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & Curation: Plan and execute content across all core channels, adapting posts for each platform’s unique audience and purpose:

  • Game Week Execution: Implement the structured Game Week Content Plan, ensuring content (e.g., Team Announcement, Player Spotlight, Match Day updates) builds momentum and tells the team’s story.

  • Brand Consistency & Commercialisation: Ensure all graphics and posts use approved brand colours, fonts, and the official logo. Actively tag and thank official sponsors and partners, particularly on LinkedIn, and include calls to action for merchandise or ticket sales when appropriate.

  • Internal Communication: Liaise with team managers to receive raw content (photos, videos, on-the-ground updates) and efficiently prepare copy for publishing.

  • High Standards: Ensure photos and videos are of good quality, and all text is well-written and professional.
