The Scotland Students squad is made up from players all across Great Britain. Any student is entitled to play for the students as long as they are either studying at a Scottish further or higher education institution or have scottish heritage.

The Scotland Students have an illustrious reputation and are well known across Europe as one of the more frequent touring student international teams and closer to home as a team who always wear their hearts on their sleeves.

The students squad was originally born out of Aberdeen University in 1989 but at present there is only one university team out of Edinburgh Napier University competing in the BUCS competitions. It is hoped that with Rugby League interest on the rise that more Scottish institutions will establish RL teams to create a domestic student league.

To get selected for the Scotland Students you will need to fall into one of the regional teams, the residents squad is for those students based in Scotland or the Exiles, for those based outwith. The Exiles will play the Residents and from there a full Scotland Students squad is selected.
