Mac was born in Glasgow.
In 2003, Mac was injured while on patrol in Iraq, this caused mobility problems and eventually medical discharge from The Army in 2005 with a degenerative condition, resulting in lower limb weakness which severely affects his mobility.
Introduced to wheelchair rugby through a Help for Heroes taster session and loved it.
Was introduced to Wheelchair Rugby League with The Army Team and introduced to Scotland Rugby League while in Sheffield.
