Nathan lives in Birstall in West Yorkshire with his wife Elizabeth and their three children. He works in hospitals as an Operating department practitioner working on the anaesthetic team. Before heading to the operating theatre you could find Nathan plying his trade full time on the rugby field. Before rugby Nathan worked within the banking industry and worked for Natwest.
Nathan’s playing career spanned 16 years and 5 clubs including Dewsbury Rams (twice), Bradford Bulls, Featherstone Rovers, York City Knights, and Batley Bulldogs. Nathan played at fullback for Bradford Bulls in their 1996 Challenge Cup Final loss to St Helens. Nathan was first capped for Scotland in 1998 becoming the 52nd player to pull on a Scotland shirt and amassed 10 caps including playing in Scotland’s first ever Rugby League World Cup in 2000.
Following Nathans retirement from playing he took up the challenge of coaching and was Head Coach of the Scotland A team for 3 years. Nathan has coached at 4 clubs including Bradford Bulls scholarship and academy, Drighlington in the NCL, Yorkshire BARLA and is currently the Assistant Coach at League 1 side Keighley Cougars. Nathan is also the current Head Coach of the Scotland students and led the team to their best placing in a Student World Cup reaching the Semi-Finals.
