Scotland Rugby League (SRL) has today officially launched their new online records and stats for the Scotland Men’s team to celebrate 25 years since the first men’s international match.
Sporting Records Online Ltd (SRO) are the official data partners for top level rugby union clubs like Wasps, Northampton Saints, Dragons and Scarlets. The company is officially linked to “Sportradar” who are the official compliance partners of the Rugby Football League.
Last year, SRO became the official website and data suppliers to Wales Rugby League, whilst their co-director Ian Golden is the WRL Head of media.
Currently just the Scotland men’s side data is on display, but there are now plans to build a complete record of the Scotland Wheelchair side, followed by the remaining Scottish international outfits.
SRL’s Operations Director, Ollie Cruickshank said:
The Board at Scotland Rugby League are very proud to officially launch the new international record database on our website. We are grateful for the extensive research, detailing and tenacity of Ian Golden.
Having seen the work Ian carried out for Wales we were delighted when he said he would be interested in working with Scotland to produce this database. The records date back to our first ever senior men’s international match, which was played 25 years ago today in Dublin, on Sunday 13 August 1995.
In addition to the comprehensive match and player data on the website, there are many match reports and photographs. The data will be expanded over the next few months and work has already started on building the complete records for the Wheelchair side.
There are 199 player profiles from the Scotland Men’s national side. Some player profile photos are still missing unfortunately so SRL are calling out to players from all squads to send in a head and shoulders photos to help support the records. Please can players email the photos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’ve been very pleased with how successful the Wales Rugby League database has been since it launched last September. We’ve had over 17,000 views of player profiles and nearly 6,000 reads of historic match reports.
So, I’ve been delighted to start work with Scotland Rugby League to build a fan-friendly database of matches and players for all of their teams, and I hope everyone enjoys reading the historic match reports and learning more about the players who have proudly worn the blue shirt. Thanks as always to my technical guy, Aman Kumar, who’s ensured that everything is displayed well on the Scotland site.
Finally it’s congratulations to Scotland Rugby League on this, the 25th anniversary of their men’s international side.
