Scotland grabbed a narrow one point victory over Wales in their second game of the Wheelchair Rugby League European Championships.

Scotland scored when the ball came towards Michael Mellon and he raced away to score his first try of the game.

Mellon then added a second try for Scotland when he found a gap on the left and he crossed the try to give them a ten point lead.

Wales responded scored the first try through Martin Beddis. His try reduced the gap to just four points.

Higgins then capped of a great Welsh passing move to score his first try of the game and cut the gap to two points.

Scotland then conceded a penalty, Higgins converted the kick to send the teams level at half time.

Half time: Wales 10 Scotland 10

Scotland immediately added two quick tries at the beginning of the second half. Michael Grant scored both of them as they raced to a ten point lead.

Wales responded through an impressive try from Geriaint Price as they cut the back to four points.

Wales then cut the gap to two points when Scotland conceded a penalty and Higgins stepped up to kick his second penalty of the game,

Scotland then responded as Mellon completed his hat trick as they scored a try and extended the gap to eight points with ten minutes to go.

Wales did manage to cup the gap to two points with a well worked try which was finished off by Harry Jones.

Wales added a drop goal with under five minutes of the game through Higgins left but they couldn’t create any more scoring chances
